The Challenge

In 2024, the operations of one of the country's most advanced automotive plants faced a critical disruption: a 24-day strike. The challenge was not only financial but also involved complex legal and reputational architecture. An intervention was required to break the deadlock in negotiations with the union (SITAUDI) amidst intense media and operational pressure, ensuring the final agreement was sustainable for the company in the long term.

The Strategic Approach

Applying the principles of Labor Engineering, our firm led the design of the negotiation strategy, focusing on:

  • Technical Mediation: Transforming demands into a viable and tiered benefits structure.
  • Operational Consistency: Ensuring every point of the agreement was executable by HR and Finance departments without creating future liabilities.
  • Restoration of Order: Implementing communication protocols to ensure an orderly and frictionless return to operations following the end of the strike.

The Result

Thanks to management based on sound legal criteria and a global business vision, the conflict was definitively resolved with the following outcomes:

  • End of Strike: Full reopening of the plant on day 24, mitigating further supply chain losses.
  • Economic Balance: An agreement for a 7% direct salary increase and a 3.2% increase in benefits (grocery vouchers, transportation assistance, and bonuses).
  • Sustainability: A strengthened collective bargaining agreement that provides legal certainty and labor peace for the brand's upcoming operational cycles in Mexico.
